Not every creative project gets an audience.
Not every song gets heard.
Not every article gets shared.
Not every film gets the attention you hoped it would.
That can be discouraging.
But the value of making something isn’t always determined by how many people see it.
Sometimes the work matters because it taught you something.
Sometimes it matters because it became proof that you could finish.
Sometimes it matters because it prepared you for the work that comes next.
And sometimes, years later, someone discovers it and finds exactly what they needed.
Create for an audience when you have one.
But don’t require an audience before you allow the work to matter.
Some of the most important work you’ll ever make may begin in complete silence.
