The biggest advantage in music today has nothing to do with AI.
It has nothing to do with better software.
It has nothing to do with faster production.
The biggest advantage is knowing what to reject.
We’re living in an era where ideas are abundant.
Lyrics are abundant.
Melodies are abundant.
Content is abundant.
Everybody is talking about how quickly they can create.
Almost nobody is talking about how carefully they can edit.
That’s a problem.
Because the value of creation falls when everyone can create.
Instead the value of judgment rises.
A songwriter who can generate 100 lyric ideas isn’t necessarily ahead of the songwriter who generates 10.
Yet the true advantage belongs to the one who can identify which 2 ideas deserve to survive.
That’s the skill many creators are overlooking.
Technology keeps making creation easier.
But selection remains difficult.
And selection is where quality lives.
The future won’t belong to people who can produce the most.
It will belong to people who know what not to publish.
