You don’t have to know everything before you begin.
Sometimes the reason to make the thing is to find out what you didn’t know.
Write the chapter.
Make the song.
Shoot the scene.
Build the project.
Then pay attention to what the work reveals.
Maybe the idea changes.
Maybe your assumptions were wrong.
Maybe you discover a strength you didn’t know you had.
Maybe the work takes you somewhere you never planned to go.
That’s one of the gifts of creating.
You don’t always make something because you already have the answer.
Sometimes you make it because you’re willing to search for one.
Let the work surprise you.
Let it challenge you.
Let it teach you.
