Hello… I’m King Benson, a serial entrepreneur, educator, and the founder of Eritail Publishing — a small business with a powerful mission.
You have probably not heard of me because I have kept a private life in my home country, Nigeria.
Recently I decided that maybe I can do something new with my life. That is why I started The Eritail Show podcasts.
I am 100 percent debt-free and self-financed. I purchased my first home and car with cash savings, and I just turned 30 in 2023.
I don’t have a PhD or Master’s but I have never needed them. Besides, I’ve been so fortunate that I still don’t know what it feels like to have a traditional job.
I live a perfectly isolated life in Lagos, Nigeria with my wife and daughter. I have one friend who visits me once every blue moon.
I’m a book lover and binge reader. I love to buy and keep books, and when I’m not re-reading them, I love to keep them in my sight.
I believe that books can change lives. Books have the potential to transform not only the lives of the readers but also the lives of the authors.
I always wanted a legacy where people will say I helped to change the course of their lives. That is why I self-published my first two books in 2012.
When folks from other countries started asking me how I did it and how they too can, I shared with them everything I knew.
As a result of my sincerity and desire to help others, I started to make new friends, mostly with independent writers in my online focus groups.
Most of these folks were two to four times older than me, some were already in their retirement age, and I was always the kid in the room.
Thankfully, my age did not matter to these ladies and gentlemen as they had the maturity to ask for my help and gave me a chance to prove myself.
In turn, I helped them devotedly, asking for nothing in return except their own satisfaction.
Soon I was swarmed with authors who needed my help over every aspect of their self-publishing businesses.
And some of these ladies and gentlemen, sensing that I was overwhelmed, started to offer me money via PayPal.
When Liberty Reserve was shut down by the CIA, I no longer had access to the vendors that bought my PayPal funds.
To ensure I remain active, these ladies and gentlemen went as far as using Western Union or Money Gram for the first time, because I said that was the only way I could receive money in Nigeria.
I still have a bunch of my Western Union and Money Gram receipts denominated in British pound, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, and the US dollar.
That is the story of how I got into the publishing services business. Because of those authors, I have made a commitment to myself to share everything that I’ve learned along my journey.
My friends retired rich and happy because the times were good. It was good enough to transform someone like me into a global entrepreneur.
The last time I heard from my old friends, the ladies and gentlemen that gave me a life in this industry, they had retired to various remote islands around the world.
Meanwhile I continue their legacy while I forge my own.
These are my records and qualifications. Although I was never traditionally employed, I single-handedly wrote and edited more than 24 million words altogether as a freelance ghostwriter and editor from 2012 to 2020.
I have made millions of dollars for my friends and clients in Canada, the U.S., U.K., and Australia, starting when I was 19 years old. In 2021 alone, I made over 120k US dollars in personal sales by working remotely for my company.
Eritail is my fourth publishing company. I built and lost three publishing companies before I built Eritail. So I know exactly what it feels like to win and then lose everything because I’ve fought on both sides.
My skills-set are diverse but individually related. First, I consider myself to be a great writer and an excellent editor.
I write and edit all my books, articles, songs and podcasts. Even though my very first book received a handful of spiteful reviews, till date no one has complained about the quality of my writing or editing.
Compared to my editorial abilities, I consider myself an average design artist. I create and design all my covers and product images. But when it comes to accepting my own designs, I am my worst critic.
I have a keen interest in website administration. I single-handedly build and maintain all my websites. I have built and maintained websites for my friends and clients as well.
Don’t expect to find much information about me on the internet because I haven’t done much in my name. The bulk of my time and energy have been devoted to serving other people and companies.
From 2012 till 2021, I had an irregular run as a freelancer. Here’s what my toughest clients have to say about me:
The overall experience that I have had with King Samuel Benson has been great! I really appreciated the honesty and regular communication that came with it. From now on, when I release a new title, I will use King Samuel Benson's proofreading and formatting services as my standard procedure. Color me very happy!
I am the creator and host of The Eritail Show. Join me and other professionals weekly as we delve into the world of self-publishing, authorship and infopreneurship.
I self-published my first two books in 2012. Since then, I’ve published over 28 titles in my name. Here are a few:
I developed a passion for songwriting in 2013 and wrote over 50 songs. I decided to record a demo in 2016 to show the world what I was capable of.
